Emily Irene VanCamp who initially was hoping to be a professional dancer became interested in acting after she met her sister Katie on the set of the movie Ladies Room. As she took acting classes as well, she also got part-time roles in Canadian television programs. Her appearances have been in a number of series, such as Are You Afraid Of The Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp had a career breakthrough following his appearance as an actor in the role of Sam Dolan on the WB horror-themed mystery series Glory Days. It was cancelled after nine episodes, despite glowing review and ratings that were low. In fact the May 12 1986 actress from the United States was quick to secure another part in Everwood as part of the principal cast members Amy Abbott. Her performance earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award and four Teen Choice Awards.
